What does it mean to be digital?

Learning Objective #2: Clearly explain the essence of what it means to be digital.

For something to be digital, it means it has a fixed number of opportunities. Digital is easier to store, and it is more resistant to noise, it changes over time. When something is digital, it can also tell the difference between signal and noise. If something is not digital, then it is analog. Analog can’t separate signals, and it is the primary reason why everything is now digital. For example, the alphabet is digital because there’s only a fixed number of letters in it, and if you distort it, you can still maintain the meaning.
