Cell phones have evolved tremendously with the rise of the digital world. Personally, I believe cell phones have more benefits than liabilities. Information can be shared instantly across very long distances. From an interdisciplinary perspective, cell phones improve global communication and have made society more connected. It allows for easier communication and a way for family, friends, and loved ones to stay connected with each other if they live far away. People can also receive texts instantly instead of waiting weeks and months for them to arrive. In case of emergencies, people can contact the police within seconds. Some liabilities are that people rely on them way too much. Personally, if I can’t find my phone, I go crazy. I am constantly on it, whether it’s being on social media apps or for entertainment. This can cause reduced focus and limited attention spans. There is also a risk of security when it comes to cell phones and what people share online. There could be hackers and scammers who can take your bank and personal information.
